An amateur is a golfer who may not accept prize money in a competition where handicaps are considered, but may receive a gift certificate not to exceed $1,200 per competition. In a competition there is absolutely no handicap considerations, an amateur may receive a cash prize not to exceed $1,200.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An amateur golfer who chooses to relinquish their amateur status is considered a non-amateur and may receive a cash prize<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
